There are kits out there that will convert the drum brakes to disc, but in my opinion (and experience) they are not worth (on 1st gen Tacoma's or 3rd gen 4Runners) it for several reasons: Taking all those things together, upgrading the rear brakes to discs is really just a waste of money and a loss in performance/functionality in most cases.
